Hormetic effects have also been reported for other assays and are known to be independent of species, mode of action and toxicant (Calabrese & Baldwin, 2002; De Nicola et al., 2007; Lippert et al., 2000; Mamindy-Pajany et al., 2011). In only 3 of high-range conditions tested resulted in significantly higher inhibitions compared to their blanks, while the remainder were statistically equivalent as confirmed by Paired t-tests.
