Acute green tea intake attenuates circulating microRNA expression induced by a high-fat, high-saturated meal in obese women: A randomized crossover study
2023, Journal of Nutritional BiochemistryA multi-biomarker approach to assess the sublethal effects of settleable atmospheric particulate matter from an industrial area on Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)
2023, Science of the Total EnvironmentCitation Excerpt :cm−1. GPx (EC 1.11.1.9) activity was analyzed by NADPH oxidation at 340 nm in a media containing 50 mM Na+/K+ phosphate buffer (pH 7.0), 1 mM EDTA, 0.2 mM NADPH, 1 mM sodium azide, 1 U.mL−1 glutathione reductase (GR), 1 mM reduced glutathione (GSH), and red blood samples (Nakamura et al., 1974). The reaction was initiated by adding 0.2 mM H2O2, and hemolised red blood samples.
The glutathione peroxidase family: Discoveries and mechanism
2022, Free Radical Biology and MedicineVitamin D<inf>3</inf> supplementation alleviates chemically-induced cirrhosis-associated hepatocarcinogenesis
2022, Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular BiologyCitation Excerpt :Frozen liver samples from the left liver lobe were homogenized in 50 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) using a motor driven teflon glass Potter Elvehjem (100 g/min). The homogenized tissue was centrifuged 12000×g (4 °C, 15 min) and the supernatant was used to determine total protein, lipid hydroperoxide (LOOH) levels [40], catalase (CAT) [41], superoxide dismutase (SOD) [42], glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) [43], and glutathione-S transferase (GST) [44] activities using well-established kinetic methods. All determinations were performed using a microplate reader (25 °C) (mQuant-Gen5 2.0 software, Bio-Tec Instruments, USA).
