The intrahepatic hemodynamic changes in steatosis have been described mainly in animal models and less frequently in patients (Aoki et al. 2005; Farrell et al. 2008; Francque et al. 2010; Hakamada et al. 1997; Magalotti et al. 2004; McCuskey et al. 2004; Mihmali et al. 2005; Seifalian et al. 1998, 1999). Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain these changes, including inflammation and the mechanisms of regeneration (Caraceni et al. 2005; Choi and Diehl 2005; Selzner et al. 2000).
