CKD patients are usually advised to adopt a low phosphate diet in addition to phosphate-lowering medications, if necessary. However, there is a lack of awareness of the dietary sources of phosphate, especially hidden phosphate intake from phosphate additives in processed foods and carbonated beverages. Appropriate nutritional education could be an effective solution in reducing phosphate toxicity without introducing an additional pill burden or malnutrition. ER -
